R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Edcouch-Elsa High School football team has 
achieved excellence on the gridiron, making the 2004 season a 
memorable one for all its fans; and
	WHEREAS, Posting the best defense and number one offense in 
the Rio Grande Valley, the Yellow Jackets were ranked among the top 
10 teams in the state and secured a first-place ranking in The 
Monitor Football Poll; moreover, they capped their undefeated 
regular season record by capturing the district championship; and
	WHEREAS, Members of the 2004 Edcouch-Elsa High School 
football team are George Rubio, Fred Loredo, Jesse Carreon, Ruben 
Garcia, Emmanuel Garcia, John Robert Gonzalez, Zeke Torres, Juan 
Baltazar, Mario Cavazos, Harvey Duran, Rollie Escobar, John Jalomo, 
Orlando Loredo, Frank Lara, Danny Castillo, Jesse Herrera, Joel 
Segura, Armando Layton, David Martinez, Mike Prieto, Rudy Lara, O. 
J. Villarreal, Baron Rowell, Tutt Garcia, Robert Bermudes, Jaime 
Garza, Aaron San Miguel, Mark Cardenas, Leeroy Contreras, J. P. 
Galvan, Chris Seitz, Juan Rangel, Ventura Guerra, Jeremy Burnias, 
Agustin Gomez, Orlando Lopez, Adrian Martinez, A. J. Gomez, Jose 
Caudillo, Benito Garcia, Bruce Bernal, Omar Ramos, Andrew Gonzalez, 
Luis Rodriguez, Daniel Adame, Mario Cruz, Erick Fox, Rosendo 
Resendez, Ernie De Leon, Rolando Lopez, Matthew Martinez, Joey 
Martinez, C. P. Garza, J. J. De Luna, Joey Sanchez, Javier 
Rodriguez, Fred Ruiz, Michael Saenz, and Eric Ybarra; and
	WHEREAS, Coach Joe Solis and his fine staff ably schooled 
these talented young athletes in the game's fundamentals, while 
instilling in them the values of good sportsmanship, hard work, and 
dedication; and
	WHEREAS, The players of this remarkable football team are a 
source of tremendous pride to the students and faculty at 
Edcouch-Elsa High School and their many supporters in the 
community; and
	WHEREAS, Representative Aaron Pena has justly recognized the 
Edcouch-Elsa High School football team by passing this resolution 
in its behalf during the Regular Session of the 79th Texas 
Legislature; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend the players and coaches of the 
Edcouch-Elsa High School Yellow Jackets football team for their 
outstanding 2004 season and congratulate them on winning the 
district championship; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for prominent display at Edcouch-Elsa High School as an 
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
